>2 IE Browser Instances causes Freeze Lockup

win98 original
IE 6.0

If I open more than 2 to 3 IE browsers then the browser freezes. I am able to CTRL-ALT-DELETE then End Task to close out the browsers.

Any ideas?

I get a very similar problem to yours. If I get a 2nd browser window open and try to close the first, the 2nd browser window freezes. The problem is much less severe now than it was.

You should scan your machine for spy/adware cause that can cause a lot of headaches. You can download a program called AdAware that will make sure there's none of this garbage on your PC.

If that doesn't work, try repairing the installation. Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>Internet Explorer>click Add/Remove then select Repair the Installation.
