WindowsExplorer Add-On Installer

I'm brand new on this BBS (ten menutes now). Please forgive if I say something stupid. My problem is this: Every ten seconds a small window appears that says "Internet Explorer Add-On Installer." When it appears, everything comes to a halt. I can do nothing until I cancel it. Then it appears ten seconds later. I want to get rid of it and not have it keep appearing. I can't get anything done with my internet freezing every ten seconds or so!How do I do get rid of the thing? Any suggestions? (I have found nothing like this mentioned on any threads here. I thought there would be hundreds!) I just realized, I should say I am running Vista. - BobHK

Welcome to WindowsBBS

Give this a shot:
Quote:
Step 3: Start Internet Explorer 7 in "No Add-ons" mode
To start Internet Explorer 7 in "No Add-ons" mode, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

yeah i am getting it also with the following (BDB57FF2-79B9-4205-9447-F5FE85F37312) my suggestion is to go to system restore and restore the computer to an earlier date like yesterday or anyday before the problem started.

Thank you! In the meantime, I found a suggestion that said to go to Control Panel, type UAC in the Search window, and turn off User Accounts under "User Accounts and Family Safety." This seems to have worked. -- BobHK
