Sometimes ago, the notebook had downloaded and installed a language translation trial program from www.babylon.com but later uninstalled it.

Since then, whenever a website has not been found, the IE 7 will appear "http://search.babylon.com/web/www.adsm.edu.au?babsrc=browsersearch ".

How can I get rid of the babylon.com? Is it monitoring what I am searching?

Also in IE7 it looks like that website is still your default search provider. Open up Internet Explorer and then click Tools, Internet Options. The Internet Options window will open. Where it says search click settings. After that another window should open and now click remove to delete your current search provider. You can find another search provider online and make it your deafult search engine.
