Pages not opening

The other night I was wanting to log on to the internet using my laptop. I wanted to do this adjacent to my PC. I had to change a few electrical plugins around in order to plug my laptop into the power strip that the main computer is on (I powered everything down first). Since then, my main computer won't open the web pages the first time. I have to click refresh at least once and sometimes twice to get the page to load. This doesn't happen everytime but a lot. I did system restore, I ran several spyware programs and antivirus programs (found one) but am still experiencing the pages not loading.

I was hoping for a little help, is this too difficult or too trivial for anyone to help me?

Are both computers still hooked up? Are they connected to the internet via a Router? If so, tyr rebooting the router but unplugging the power cord.

No, both the computers are not hooked up at the present. I tried shutting down the computer, unplugging the cable box (modem) and also unplugging the router but it didn't change anything.

My System

Bubba - I had something similar: see my post at "This page cannotbe displayed" - unless I insist

The problem has now gone away, and I don't know which of the various bits of advice did the trick, but something did , Maybe you'll find something in that thread which helps you - I hope so!
