Can't delete browsing history

Hello . Maybe you folks can help me to solve this problem . I have tried several times to delete my browser history yet everytime I test this in the browser window , old webpages come back up when I start to type. I think I'm following the proper steps to do this : tools>internet options>browsing history>delete all . What am I doing wrong ? Thanks !

Hi JetstreamJim. Try downloading and running ATF Cleaner. http://www.majorgeeks.com/ATF_Cleaner_d4949.html It is much better at cleaning temporary internet files than Internet Explorer is. Just run the program and when it opens just select the boxes of which files you want to delete and hit empty selected. Try it out.

Hi Evan , yes , I downloaded the ATF cleaner and the pages that were still coming up in the browser were in my favorites ! I didn't know that windows did that . I had some links showing up that were just ancient and I'd forgotten that I'd stored them there . I couldn't seem to figure out where they were hiding ! Anyway, I also put the same cleaner on my laptop and it seemed to help it out also . Thanks for your help !

You can turn off the "auto complete" in tools-Internet options-content tab to prevent having the problem again.
