Internet Explorer downloads stop at 99%

    Everytime I try to download something with Internet Explorer seven, the download stops at 99%. Very irritating. Any suggestions please?

    Your virus scanner might be checking the download if you're running one, or windows defender or other 'security' software might be involved.

    If you have a virus scanner, check the following registry values to make sure they're both set to 1:

    HKCU \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ Attachments
    Value: ScanWithAntiVirus

    HKLM \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ Attachments
    Value: ScanWithAntiVirus
