Web Page opens as a word document

I am trying to open a link from my companies intranet web page and when I do, it ask to "open or save". It points the URL to c:\documents&settings instead of opening the web page like normal.

I am running Windows 2000 and IE6.

Please help if you know any suggestions.

Thank you

Try copying ("copy link location" in mozilla) and pasting the URL into notepad to see what it's text really is (not what it appears to be). Rt-clk and 'copy shortcut' in explorer.

Web page opening as a Word document

I am not that familiar with Mozilla. I did down load it and entered the URL and it works correctly. I did copy and paste the URL in notepad, but it doesnt show anything, so either there is nothing to see or I am doing it wrong.
However, I copy and pasted the address that worked in Mozilla to IE6 and it still is not working. So now I think it must be a setting in IE6 that is telling it to open as a word document. I also reinstalled IE6 but no luck, still same problem.

Thanks for the reply...

Try explorer.exe, tools, folder options, file types and scroll down to html and see what default program is supposed to open that type. Also check the other types that may be affected. Click change and browse to the program you wish.

Edit: Forgot to say rt-clk in mozilla, too. Should work. Experiment. I use it a lot to copy/paste URLs. Try it on this.
