IE Favorites disappeared.

In IE7,when I click on "Favorites" in Menu toolbar, the menu that pops up is "Add to favorites" and "Organize favorites".
I cannot "Add to" and the "Organize favorites" can not organize because all my favorites have disappeared leaving nothing to organize. WMC SP2

Hello Ol Man,

First check if your favorites are there in the Favorites folder:

\Documents and Settings\your username\

Hi Ol' Man,

Ok, then it might be a Shell issue.

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/usershellfolders.htm Go to the site, scroll down to Resetting the special folder paths to defaults and follow the instructions on changing the reg key value.

Regedit backup instructions in case you need them:

Start > run > type regedit > ok

Tool bar at top > File > export

Export to a file name such as regbackup

Double clicking on this file will restore the Registry.

Another way to backup the registry - a manual System Restore point.

Regards - Charles
