    1. On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options.

    2. Click the Advanced tab.

    3. Scroll down and look under Browsing, click Use inline AutoComplete

    That is not incorrect

    I am using IE6 SP2

To turn on the inline AutoComplete feature for Web addresses, follow these steps in Internet Explorer:
    1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
    2. Click the Advanced tab.
    3. Under Browsing, click the Use inline AutoComplete for Web addresses check box, and then click OK.

Your suggestion only adjusts settings mine turns it on or off
