Recently I've noticed that the links in "Favorites folder keep disappearing...

I'll try to explain a little better...

I can save a site into my favorites and although the name for the link stays there, the link below it does not.

Example the link for this forum, I called "Windows BBS" when I saved it. however whenever I click on it, nothing happens.... so I right click on it to view the properties and when I do the link "www.windowsbbs.com" is gone.

I also know that the should be 3 tabs that read "General ", "Web Document" and "Virus Property ", but when the link disappears so does the tab that reads "Web Document "

Any ideas whats happening... the system is clean of spyware etc and I am using IE7 beta 2... I've also noticed this happening on another computer aswell...

I've upgraded to IE7 beta 3 now and everything seems fine except for one thing now....

When I go to do a disk cleanup there is now included in the list of things to cleanup, one that says "@C:\WINDOWS\System3occache.dll,-..." (without the quotes). When I highlight it, the word "view" on the button changes to garbage lettering, and if I then click on that button it shows Downloaded program files. The garbage letters, btw, are any part of the string "@C:\WINDOWS\System3occache.dll,-..."

Why is that there?? It doesn't seem to be causing problems but just seeing that that, bothers me....

    Any ideas???

I really can't help you there - I am not running IE 7 in any form (except occasionally in Vista and that is not beta 3). Apart from the fact that I don't care for the new layout I seem to recall one of my IE toolbars was not compatible with it. Think it was Favorites Search which is an essential tool in working on the BBS.

You could try posting on the IE Beta newsgroups. If you're in North America MS provide phone support

Charles gave you the answer, but while he was posting I was researching and Google denies all knowledge of @C:\WINDOWS\System3occache.dll

Well after upgrading from IE7 beta 2 to beta 3, PeteC was right it did fix the problem of my links disappearing. So thank you PeteC.

And also I followed the link that charlesvar posted and did exactly what it said to do and it corrected the other problem I had after installing the new beta version. So thank you charlesvar.
