Whenever I return from an out-of-town trip and put my laptop back into its port replicator, the Internet Connection tries to use a dial up number as I did while on the road.
I reset the Dial up networking settings to "either never dial or dial only whenever a connection isn't present"; but, minutes later, it throws me offline and gives me the dial up connection box again.
I go back into the "settings" tab and it's reset itselft to always dial a connection.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

sorry about the late reply, here is something you can try. Download XteqSystem X Setup (get it from zd net downloads) it is free and is a tweakers paradise. Once you have it go to + Network then to + Ras&Dun then to Windows nt/2k/xp/ras options once opened check the box to activate "enable saving ras/dun passwords" This should fix the problem.
I am experiencing the same problem with Win ME. When I reboot the system (not because of a crash or other irregularities). I almost always reverts to 'never dial a connection'. Is there someway to fix this. I used XTseq but the parameters are not the same as the suggestion for Win 2000k
