I'm wondering if there's any easy trick for closing IE's open windows ALL at the same time...

    Any help?

If you have Win XP, there is a context pick to close all open windows as a group. But that doesn't help much if you only have 2 or 3 windows open. You could use ALT+F4, but if you have an application window that gets focus, you could accidentally lose some work.

This is by no means an endorsement. I have no affiliation with the author. CloseIEx is a utility that sits in the quicklaunch or IE toolbar. It will do what you are wanting. IMO, it's got a few things going for it. I've used it and it works. No spyware I could find. It's free.

My little notebook I keep computer tips in says you should be able to do it like this:

Hold down your SHIFT key and click the X.

This is supposed to close ALL the windows you had open. Try it and let us know if it works. I've never done it. Actually, I keep forgetting about this little trick. LOL.

    :)

    Kevin:

    O.S. Win98Se + IE 5.5SP2

As regards CloseIEx (and its clone Kill_IE 2.0 too...), I've been told that both of them are inclined to crash often IE so I was afraid to install them till now...

To try or not to try: that is the question... :D

Sometime back I was looking for the same solution that you are. Someone pointed me to CloseIEx and I've been using it for a little over a month now. Install was quick and easy and I've had no problems using it on my Win Xp Home System with IE6.

    HTH. :)
