Search OE forum and found a suggestion to problem, but can't implement the suggestion.

Everytime I open OE, AIM logon screen comes up. When I try and exit, OE freezes for 1-2 minutes, but eventually comes back.

I've set AIM preferences such that AIM is not default messaging program and doesn't automatically start with WINDOWS.

I've seen suggestion in old threads (thru search) to go to the General Tab of OE Tools --> Options and uncheck a box about connecting to AIM. Problem is I don't see this under the General or any other tab of the OE Tools --> Options.

Help. My kids and I are about to go to war over AIM.

In Outlook Express, what you're looking for in Tools>Options is any reference to starting a messenging program. Should be on the General tab and may refer to Windows Messenger instead of AIM but uncheck it anyway.

Then go into the AIM Settings and uncheck the option, "Make Aim my default instant messenging program." That should disable the auto loading of AIM with Outlook Express.
