ie closing after using back button

    I am running ie 6 with xp and sp1. recently when i started using ie and use either the back button or backspace key i get the message.

    IE HAS ENCOUNTED AN ERROR AND MUST CLOSE.

    here is a cut and past from details sections

    AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106 ModName: mshtml.dll
    ModVer: 6.0.2800.1458 Offset: 0015ffdf

    Is anyone able to make any sense of this?
