When I was using Netscape Mail there was an option to set your "original message" in certain colours. I can't find that anywhere in Outlook Express. All there is, is the indent option (under Options, Send tab, Mail Sending Format, HTML Settings). To get your message say, blue, I had to highlight and change the colour manually. Is there an automatic setting somewhere?

Also, as an alternative, I've noticed that you can apply stationary, but it only seems possible per message. Is there a way to set a default stationary so you don't have to apply it every time you create a message?

    thx,

mikenowo--Color: Using OE6, Tools|Options|Compose tab|Font Settings|in Effects area (bottom left) you can change color.
For more detail, this comes from OE Help
"To change the font, style, and size of text

You can change the way the text looks for all your messages or you can make changes to selected text within a message.

To change the text style for all messages

On the Tools menu, click Options.
On the Compose tab, click Font Settings.
To format text within individual messages

Select the text you want to format.
(To change the font for an entire message, on the Edit menu, click Select All.)

On the formatting toolbar, click the buttons for the options you want.
    Notes

If you have trouble formatting, make sure HTML formatting is turned on by clicking the Format menu in a new message window and then clicking Rich Text (HTML). A black dot appears by the command when it is selected.
When you use HTML formatting and the recipient's e-mail or news program does not read HTML, the message appears as plain text with an HTML file attached. The recipient can view the attached file by opening it in any Web browser. "

    Stationery: From OE Help
"To create stationery for outgoing messages

You can use the Stationery Wizard to create new looks for your e-mail and newsgroup messages.

On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Compose tab.
In the Stationery area, click Create New.
    Notes

To use stationery you see in a message from someone else, select the message, and then on the File menu, click Save as Stationery.
A stationery file is an HTML file and can be edited in Outlook Express. In a new message window, on the View menu, click Source Edit, and then click the Source tab to make changes.
When creating your stationery, try to keep the file size smaller than 10 KB. Pictures and other objects can make the file too large to be easily downloaded. (Check the size of your stationery inside the Stationery folder at \Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery.) "
There is more info in OE Help on Stationery Wizard, etc.

Ok, I had asked this question on behalf of someone else. Turns out that's not what they're talking about. Here's the followup:

Any suggestions? I myself don't see an option like that in OE anywhere.
