My friend just upgraded from Windows 95 to 98 using an upgrade disc. Since that time, she cannot access a page that she uses for medical information. She can get the first page, but when she logs in, she gets the message "This page is not available........................"
We are both on the same cable system and I can log in for her and get all of the pages. She can go to her sons house or a friends house and everything works. This is apparently something missing from her system since she upgraded. She was having no problem with Windows 95. Can anyone tell me what is now missing from her system that is not allowing the page to open?
She is running the free version of ZoneAlarm, but we have tried it with ZoneAlarm turned off without results. She does not have Norton Internet Security.
I will try the advice offered about the cipher strength when I can get back to her house. Maybe tomorrow if she is home.

I have tried all suggestions so far and still have the same problem. I have turned off "ZoneAlarm" and checked out the suggestions by Microsoft. Cipher strength is 128 bit. Still get the message that "the page is not available." Only happens on her computer. I tried the "repair" feature in Internet Explorer and nothing changed.
Any help is appreciated.
When all else fails, dump the browser's cache? IE>Tools>Internet Options>Delete Files button, put a check mark in "Delete all offline content" to make sure you get it all. Not as far-fetched as it sounds and since it only take a few mouse clicks, it's worth a shot.
LOL! After I typed the above, I checked the FAQ page on the site you linked to and that's what they suggest trying when "page not available" message pops up.
Also, delete cookies while you're there deleting the cache files. A corrupt or missing cookie might be interfering. Make sure cookies are enabled, as well.
And thanks for the link...went to that page and got reminded I gotta' upgrade to TriCare Prime.
Thanks for the reply. Everything has been dumped and cleaned out. Cookies are enabled. She can go to other places on the page, but she gets this error when she tried to "Log In." This thing has really got me stumped. I really appreciate your suggestions.
In IE click tools>internet options>advanced. In the security section, make sure both use SSL 2.0 and use SSL 3.0 are checked. Don't know if it requires a reboot or not.
I got 4 Java prompts when I clicked on that link. In Tools, Internet Options, Advanced & Security (internet) tabs, check Java settings and permissions.
Sort of grasping at straws here but have her check her computer's date and time. When that's wrong, all sorts of strange things can happen on secure sites.
Yup. They are doing some interesting java things there. When I went to that link, my Sun Java console started up and that's a rare thing for a web site to trigger.
You can get Sun Java here. It's a free download. I have Sun and MS VM my comp, side by side, and they are compatible. Xp decides which one I want for me.
She has Java enables and it is working. All of the things on the main page are available and working. However, when she tries to "log in" or clicks on one of the other links on the main page, she get the dreaded message "the page is not available." Java is enabled in the Security options.
I downloaded a new version of Internet Explorer 6 SP1 on the thought that maybe she got a bad download. However, that didn't help either.
I'll have to check on her date and time settings. I'll let you know what I find.

Put the site into IE Tools|Internet Options|Security tab|Trusted Sites?? (I would uncheck the box about "requiring server verification", although in this case that might not be strictly necessary. But why cause further complication.)
