I have outlook express as my email pgm. I've tried to save an picture attachment onto my desktop which I did but I told the attachment to open with a specific pgm by accident. Now all of my pictures open with this pgm that doesn't open pictures.

    Question:
How can I change the application seletion on attachments from outlook.

Question: When I click save any attachment, it outlook express saves the attachment but puts a envelope icon on it. Why doesn't it show a jpg icon or something like that. How can I fix that too.

    Thanks.

This is a Windows problem - nothing to do with OE. When you click Save on the attachment the file association remains , e.g. *.jpg, *.doc, etc.

Normally these files would open in the default - or your preferred application. It seems that the file asociation has been lost.

You do not say which OS you are using, but basically go to file associations and scroll down to the file type, e.g. jpg and set the application with which you want it to open.

In XP Tools > Folder Options > File Types - similar in 98 as I recall.

Similar to XPI would guess - I don't have W2k on any of my PC's.

Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options?

I think Win2000 works the same as 98. Find a jpeg, hold down the shift key, then right click. Select "open with ", there you will be given the choice on what program will open this jpeg. Highlight the program, and put check mark in "always use this program" or something like that.
