    I had to reformat and reinstall Win98se recently and now I've somehow ended up with Outlook Express 6 instead of 5.

    I saved all the files stored in C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Identities\{BLAH}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\ and backed them up onto CD. I tried replacing these files in the new Outlook 6 storage folder, but then it refuses to run saying I'm out of memory :confused:

    Here's the message(s):
    Clicking ok, I then get:

    Do I need to reinstall Outlook Express 5? and if so, how?

    I'm running an AMD 1600xp machine with 256mb memory. Never had an out of memory message before though :-\

    Thankies :)

    Hi JimmyHetfield
    Does this seem applicable?

    ok, I don't think that link 100% applied to my problem, but it did help with the restoration of Outlook Express 5, so thanks :)

    OE5 is now running... it didn't keep the messages I had received in OE6, but it did keep the email settings.

    I tried changing the Storage folder to point to the oe5 backup stuff, but when I restarted Windows and tried to boot OE, I got a MSOE.DLL error message.. I changed the storage path via the registry and restarted Windows again. OE5 now works (again), but everytime I change the Storage folder to my backed up data, it fails to run :(

    What next? :confused:

    Have you tried using the import function?
