IS updating IE and replacing a Branded version problematic????

Know nothing about AOL or branded IE browsers.

Got a poster in win98 forum with an old 5.0 AOL branded IE. HE/she has since stopped using the ISP services and uninstalled AOL. Still has the branded IE.

What I need to know is....
Are there any issues or problems just going to MScom and updating IE overtop the branded version?

Sure would hate to recommend updating before I know if there is going to be problem.

Never mind...........

Poster went ahead and updated to IE6 and is a happy camper. All apparently went smoothly with the update. Didn't even have time to add additional comments, cautions or advice..... guess it was his/her lucky day.....

Thanks for peeking in and I am sorry for the needless inturruption.

Never hurts to talk to someone, though, does it?
