Issues with moving the default email storage folder in OE

I want to move my OE storage folders into My Documents, since that’s the folder I back up very most frequently. Is there a reason that Microsoft, by default, buries the storage so many levels down in files with those arcane names, ie: {AF2CCD..........}

Each of my several accounts/identities has it's own uniquely named folder in the OE default "Identities" folder, however when you move the folder via the option in the OE Maintenance tab, it just plops into C:\My Documents\..... and all the arcane folder naming is eliminated.

Has some level of protection from hackers or other threats been lost by doing this or does it just not matter? The old arcane folder gets left behind, empty, in the OE default "Identities" folder after the move.

Thanks!

My System

I have always had my OE storage folders on my D: drive. My Documents are on my D: drive. I put them there using Tweakui.

I just made a folder under "My Documents" called Email and changed the location to there.

You can create folders for each of your identities and by going into the change store folder while in each identity, you can put them all under My Documents.

Doing it this way is great for backups and also for reinstalling OE. You don't lose your message store if something happens to you C: drive.
