Hope I'm in the right forum. Just got a new desktop and everything seems fine except that on random pages I get AdChoices pop ups. I have internet explorer set to block all pop ups and set the internet zone to medium high. No joy. Scanned with CCleaner, Hitman Pro, Malwarebytes Anti Rootkit Beta, Malwarebytes Premium and Windows Defender full scan and they have found no problems. The pop ups still remain. I went to Control Panel to look at the installed Programs and everything there belongs. How can I get rid of AdChoices? Thanks, Jack

After you are sure you are clean, you can use a program called AdBlock Plus. Very good at what it does. https://adblockplus.org/

After posting the problem I went online to look for a car battery. I noticed the default auto store that came up was in Corpus Christi, Texas. I'm in Florida so that was strange. I bought the computer from Amazon warehouse and was told it had a blemish on top but was unused. I went to the Walmart site and that also came up with a Corpus Christi, Texas store as the default store. I called Amazon and told them of the AdChoices problem and the default Texas shopping sites and that I thought the computer was used and had been returned for some reason. They did not argue and are replacing the computer at no charge. Problem solved. I tried the Adblock plus software on my old desktop and even the Ads embedded on the sides of pages are gone. Thanks MrBill.

Showing something in a different City or State probably is no big deal. I go to Home Depot or Lowes quite often and it always shows some other place then the ones that I shop at. I make them my home store and it still changes. I do clean cookies, etc. each day. Glad AdBlock worked. Still would go to the Malware section if I was you just to make sure.
