We are a school currently running IE9 on our kit because IE10 & 11 doesn’t sit happily with proxy server settings etc. IE9 won’t open on one our Lenovo All In One M92Zs OS 64 bit Windows 7. IE9 is present It's in both as 32 and 64 bit folders in Programmes but clicking on the relevant shortcut’s or exe fails to bring it up. Internet Explorer is set up right in Internet settings. Other browsers are locked out by our Antivirus when in use by students but moving it to a non student workgroup Google Chrome works fine.

Through Control Panel Windows Updates accesses it's site ok. Total mystery that I've spent a fair while trying to unravel recently. Any suggestions please?

Did you check the AV software to make sure it's not blocking IE?

Thanks Steve. Yes I did check that and no it's not being blocked. I did notice that the PC hadn't picked up many updates but they are now rolling onto it ok. My next step I think it to let it pick up IE11 as it's selecting it as an optional update and seeing if that works. My problem with that then I suspect will be it won't pick the proxy setting up!

Bit the bullet and installed IE11. On my account it's working ok.
