Copying Outlook Express 6 entire Message Store from Win XP Pro to Win 2K Pro?
FACTS:
I have a desktop with Windows XP Pro with IE6. I burned a CD backing up the Outlook Express Message Store from the Windows XP Pro desktop, so I could replicate my email program to a Laptop I have with Win 2K Pro with IE6, and use it on the road. When I changed the location of my Message Store in the Outlook Express 6 Options -> Maintenance -> Store Folder (on the laptop with Win 2K Pro) and restarted Outlook Express, I got the following error: "Outlook Express could not be started. The application was unable to open the Outlook Express message store. Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full. Contact Microsoft for assistance. (0x8007000E,5)". When I cliked OK to that message, the following message appeared: "Outlook Express could not be started because MSOE.DLL could not be initialized. Outlook Epxress may not be installed correctly".
QUESTION:
Does Outlook Express have problems allowing the use of email folders and/or the entire message store from Windows XP Pro to Windows 2K Pro? Is there a workaround that?
I appreciate any help!

Thank you Brett for your reply! That almost hit the nail but I'm confused!! The solution on the page you indicated is
"To resolve this issue, modify your shortcuts to point to the correct location"
It feels vague to me! Modify what shortcuts and where? I must note that I DID NOT "change this key before you install Windows 2000 SP1", instead, I changed that key AFTER SP1 installation (I don't know if that would make a difference). Is there a better, more detailed way to where should I modify that entry and possibly how it would look like?
Thank you so much!
This maybe isn't going to be as easy as I first thought. Possibly the quickest way to get things up and running will be to use one of your restore points to turn back the clock on the laptop and then following the instructions here to make a further backup of the OE configuration on the XP box.
Brett, what would be of guys like me without guys like you! Thanks! Although I have not followed those procedures yet, they sound complex yet simple enough to spark my interest in diving into it. I ran out of time before a cross country move (my profile location is San Rafael, CA and there is where I'll be moving to Monday from the East Coast, so I'll put a time hold on this and will pick up in a week or so. In the mean time, thanks again! I'll post the outcome back here.
PS: Sorry if some of the content of my reply is unrelated to the BBS.
