    .
Google Puts Internet Explorer 8 on Notice, Ends Support in Nov.

IE8 is the latest, and last version of IE that'll run on Windows XP.

I guess that gives consumers running Windows XP no choice but to either upgrade to Windows 7 or to use a different web browser to continue to use the google services.

Windows XP is fast becoming obsolete anyway so most techs are encouraging users to upgrade to a more modern OS since IMO Windows XP has now become out of date. Its understandable that google will no longer be supporting IE8. Maybe this move will get people who are clinging onto Windows XP one more reason to upgrade to Windows 7/Windows 8.

    Won't run Windows 7

I would love to upgrade to Windows 7 and IE9 on my desktop, but it is too old and is Windows 7 impaired. It would take too many upgrades of memory, video card, etc to become W7 compliant. I know I will eventually have to get a new computer, but in the meantime I am stuck with XP.

I only use the Google search bar on my XP/IE8 so hopefully it will keep working.

My laptop is a Windows 7 OS so I can always fall back on that.:)

I believe this is part of the crusade against Microsoft and Internet Explorer. They will soon find a reason to not suport IE9 ... ... !
