Unhappy compatibilty mode

i am running win98,pc booster and zone alarm. for the past two days when i open explorer5.5 a message pops up telling me that IE is being run in compatibilty mode and not all features are enabled. does anyone know why this has happened and wot do i do to stop this. thanx.

Hi Rosha
It could be so many things.
If it's not to late , go back to a good copy of the registry
( before your problem )

Press F8 during bootup ( when , verifying DMA pool message comes on )
Select , Command prompt only .
After the C prompt , type , scanreg/restore
Follow the prompts and select a registry dated prior to the problems .
When finished , type win & press Enter .

This and your other thread may be related. Are you sure it said 'IE is being run in compability mode' and not something like 'IDE is being run in compability mode?' Does your computer seem to run slower?

Check the config.sys for 16bit ( DOS ) drivers.

The CDROM DOS driver being loaded from the config.sys will ( or may and has for me ) keep ( kept ) the system in the Compatability mode.

Thumbs up incompatibility mode

thanx everyone. i had a virus. Norton could,nt remove it so i formatted and then ran PQREMOVE. everything is ok now.
