Tom's Hardware Review ...
Full article ... Next-Gen 7,200 RPM Notebook Hard Drives

For a quick read .... Conclusion page for above review
I chose the Seagate Momentus 320GB - 7200 with G-Force protection (a $9 price bump). Purchased in February via Dell Business group special for $71.43 plus shipping/tax. Installed in my new Asus 1000HE netbook. Netbook came stock with a Segate Momentus 160GB - 5400. Will notice / detect some faint "clicking" infrequently on both of them, but nothing I'm concerned about. I now use the 160GB as external backup HDD via BlacX interface.
You can currently buy the non G-force OEM version of this drive at Newegg for $69.99 with free shipping. Has good reviews.
The end of June to early July will be taking family to Florida (relatives). I expect my netbook to get hammered about 20 hours a day by family ... do not expect any problems. But will have the original 160GB along for the ride. Ten minutes exchanging HDD around, run image backup onto OS partition and back to the races.

Thank you for your input, Dennis.
BTW, how do I get this information about "My System" configuration to display at my user profile?

Actually, prior to writing you I did fill out the required spaces with hardware data, but this information isn't showing though.

It's working now. I had to turn this on elsewhere.
