    Dear all,

    I have a brand new Acer Extensa with linux on;

    1. I boot from XP Pro.. and at a certain moment, I get a Blue Screen error
    2. I boot from Vista and the installation (format, etc.) goes clean.

    Then I try to reboot from XP pro, still I get a Blue Screen error.

    Why ain't I being able to install XP pro? what to do if I want to have XP pro and not Vista?

    Thanx

    Introduction to Stop Errors

    "Stop errors in a nutshell are errors that are serious enough to cause Windows to stop. They are similar to the blue screen errors that were present on Windows 9x, however there is no option to try and resume the session in a Windows NT Stop Error (Windows 2000 and all XP members included). "

    Hello Steve,

    Thank you for your reply;

    Problem solved. I had to change the HD config from SATA to IDE in the bios.

    Thanx again,
