Removing dead pixels from note book screen

    I have numerous dead pixel lines on my note book screen ( one is 3cm or 1.25" Wide!)

    I there any way I can fix dead pixels without replacing my note book screen or having it replaced?

    My O/S is Windows XP and my notebook is an aging Presario x6000
