microphone question

I have a WinXP computer with a Creative SB Audigy 2ZS sound card. I want to input voice for over dubbing video.

I'm not sure what is needed...a microphone certainly but some seem to plug intothe USB port and some into the sound card.

Can someone please walk me (briefly) through the process and requirements?

thanks

My System

Not into audio myself, but I would suggest a mic which plugs directly into the sound card would be best. If you have the sound card manual there should be guidance there, if not visit the web site and download the manual.
