Drive image was developed to do what you're wanting to do. What happened when you tried?

Drive image is not going to give you the result. Remember that WinXP does not natively detects SATA - it needs drivers to be loaded beforehand to see any thing on SATA.

If you want more space on your C drive, then either you can reformat/reinstall on SATA or you can try to mount the SATA drive in one of your folders in C drive.

In response to Steve Jones: it seemed everything was ok.I unplugged the old 20 gig hdd and had the sata as only drive.I got:failure loading OS on bootup.I tried to reinstall windows but when it came time to enter cd key it would not recognise my keyboard ,actually any of my 3 kb's.I finally just unplugged it and went back to my old setup of 2 ide's and everythings back to square 1
