Beta Bios vs Released BIOS

I just got a beta BIOS from the german ASUS website, version 1021.003 i think, but my question is How long does ASUS keep the BIOS as a beta? On the other ASUS website version 1020 has been on beta since las november. Its almost as if they have forgotten about it.

Hi Chuck,

I can only sympathize with you. I have had long term problems with graphics cards on this motherboard. I went to get the latest BIOS for it and found the latest was a beta from 2002 (Gigabyte board). The beta did not seem relevant to my problem, so got the last full version. Did not help

I would be a little concerned that there were different BIOS versions around for your motherboard. I might wonder if the German one could be for a different revision of the board. Like me, you may want to stick with full version, unless it seems to deal with a specific problem that you are facing, even then I would still be cautious. You do have a problem? It is the general concensus amoung the hardware people that unless you have a specific problem that may be fixed by a BIOS upgrade, don't do it.

Matt
