mp3 players

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for help on buying a portable mp3 player. It seems I want a combination of features thats hard to find. I want a player that has at least 1 gig mem, easy to transfer files from my media player (Windows mp9), and can use an adapter to play through my car stereo (cassette deck). Battery life and size of player are less important issues. Can anyone offer suggestions?
I've heard from friends that finding players with good transfer software is problematic. I'd like to spend less than $300.00 on everything I need. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hp Brio w/ Intel Celeron processor, Win98SE, IE6, WMP9, 256MG Ram, 4 GIG on C, and 20 GIG on D. No Burners.

My System

I have little unit that I use to play cds and MP3s through either my computer, the car speakers, or headphones. It takes 2 AA batteries for about 10 hours of use, but it also has a jack for an AC. ( I use that here at the comp!) I simply burn a data cd of MP3s (and an awful lot fit on one cd!) and it allows me to search or choose how to play them. I bought it about a year ago, and I know I spent less than $75 for it.

Thanks Johanna,

I ended up getting a iRiver hard drive mp3 player. It has 1.5 gigs of space for plenty of music, and I can also us it a a portable hard drive. I got a device that plugs into the headphone jack and allows me to play it through any fm radio (home, car, etc.) wirelessly.

Aloha

Sorry, no it doesn't play cd's. It has a usb port that connects via usb cable directly to the usb hub on my computer and downloads mp3 files or any other files directly to the unit. The wireless adapter plugs into the headphone jack, so I think it would work on any kind of player. It's made by Belkin and I got mine at Best Buy for around $30.00. You might want to check it out.
