MSCOMCTL.OCX problem

I have a cd burner(CD-RW Drive Unit 1: SONY _CD-RW CRX140E (1.0n) ) that i dont use very often, the last time i used it (2 months ago) it was working fine. now when i double click the desktop item it tells me

*Sony Cd Extreme

Run-time error 339
component 'MSCOMCTL.OCX'OR or one of its dependencies not correctly registered : a file is missing or invalid*

what could of led to this . I tried reinstalling the pxEngine (358) to see if it would fix it but it did not work.

If you know what this is please let me know.

Thank you

tavotavo--I have no experience with this file, but www.google.com provides the following
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&i...=Google+Search
Reference #3 (FAQ) says you can download the file from its site. Note you probably have to register it. Be sure to scan for viruses before using.
P.S. I assume you have run a find for MSCOMCTL.OCX on your PC. If you find it still there, maybe all you have to do is re-register it.
Better yet maybe someone who hs been through this will come along and help.

My System

Try un-installing the burner software, rebooting and re-installing the sofware.
