I have a 15" Tatung monitor, it supports 100 Hz at 640 x 480. Now i have it at 800 x 600, 85 Hz BUT with the original Leadtek drivers ( form the cd ). When I try to set it at 85, this time with the detonator drivers ( ANY of them ), it can NOYL reach 75 Hz maximum. It does not stay at 85 like the previous drivers form the cd.
So, what kind of problem do I have ?

Interesting problem, I am assuming when you are talking about drivers you are talking about Drivers for a Leadtek Winfast Ge Force X graphics card.
Well, install the Detonator drivers and right click on dekstop go to properties-settings-advanced and monitor and see if the 'hide modes that the monitor cannot display' is checked or unchecked. If you are positive that your monitor 'can' safely hanlde high refresh rates for a long period of time disable this setting and try that.
If that doesn't work you could always either:
1: get drivers for your monitor or;
2: disable the current drivers and choose a default PnP monitor
Yes, I'm talking about the drivers for a LeadTek card. Incredible but I do not have the option with the: hide modes that the monitor.... BUT I saw that one on PowerStrip. Well, I have installed also PowerStrip and unchecked that option with the modes... and it appear more refresh rates over 75 of course.... 75, 85, 90.... My monitor supports 85 maximum refresh at 800 x 600 but when I put the refresh at 85 the image closes and becomes black.....
So what is really going on in here ?
I also tried the new drivers for my 15" monitor, and tried also to simply change the model but without result. The same thing happens...
Is there any proggy on the net that should change my refresh rate DIRECTLY from the registry ?
Glad to hear you again BillyBob.
I think that the monitor DOES NOT suport 85 Hz. If this is true it means that the guys there from the service lied to me when they told me that the problem might be coming from the video card. Why did they put that faulse info on the web I don't know, that this model TM 452 x series supports 100 Hz cause it's a ****,a lie call it however you like....
