Firewall [web pages trying to access remote computer ff02::1 port 67]
Hello world,
My firewall frequently shows warnings for web pages trying to access remote computer ff02::1 port 67. This looks like a multicast for DHCP or something like that. This is frequently followed by an attempted access to a specific remote computer address on port 1935, which is some kind of Macromedia Flash request.
I routinely block the outgoing traffic to port 67. Why would a web page (or more likely an ad using Flash on a web page) want to do a DHCP access? Has anyone else seen this? Am I being overly paranoid? Is this a benign network access like a DNS lookup or something needed by Flash?
I'm on Windows Vista Home Premium, running ESET Smart Security 3.0 for anti-virus, firewall, and anti-malware. I also run Windows Defender.
Thanks -- D
