    In response to the above post, until further testing has been done on the tool offered, I would much prefer our members wanting to confirm if a fix is required to post a log from RSIT in the Malware and Virus Removal forum.

    Instructions for RSIT

    • Download RSIT by random/random and save it to your desktop.
    • Double click RSIT.exe to start the tool and click Continue at the disclaimer.
    • When the scan completes it will open a log named log.txt maximized, and a log named info.txt minimized.
    • Please post the contents of log.txt in a new topic of your own.

    MBAM version 1.27 released this morning will fix the broken registry key, if broken. So, update and run a new scan. :)

    Please note this version also resets another registry key. It might show up in the log similar to the following.

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\scrfile\shell\open\command\ (Broken.OpenCommand) -> Bad: ( "%1" %*) Good: ( "%1" /S) -> No action taken.

    A previous glitch set it differently, which had no effect whatsoever on functionality. Today's release just restores the original Microsoft value.
