Not Happy With My Virus Checker

This is just general info on what I experienced with my new virus checker. I did some research and tested a new virus checker called CA. It looked good and tried the 3 month free trial. All it did was virus and email checking. I decided to buy it. As I was going through the checkout procedure a window popped up and said 'FOR THE SAME PRICE BUY THE WHOLE SUITE'. I figured, why not. It was a no brainer. I installed the whole suite and then the problems started. When I booted up in the morning I would get a blank screen. It was blue. I could see my cursor but nothing else. Had to reboot several times to get my desktop to show. Clicking links on a web page took forever! Web Inspector was taking so long to check out the pages. A few games sites were causing me problems, even after tweaking the security settings. After several live chats with them I ended up uninstalling Web Inspector, DNA Migrator and the Firewall. The tech said the problems could have been program conflicts. I'm wondering if I would have had this problem if my PC had been an XP instead of this Vista. So far, since the uninstall, things have been running smoother. Now I need to decide if I was to stick with CA when my year is up or go search again. I used to use Norton, but thought I'd try something new. Anyhoo, just wanted to share this with everyone.

My System

Hi Panda
I use CA Anti-Virus, My sister had the suite.
She also had problems, I had her uninstall the spyware program and some parental control program that came with it. and that fixed the problem.

It seems to never fail that the suite programs with most companies have a problem, I've seen it over and over.
I'm not so sure why though. and it seems that some aren't compatible with AdAware and SpyBot S/D.

I believe that the Anti-Virus and Firewall from CA is as good a choice as any and I like CA Anti-Virus. and I would have went with thier Firewall also but they don't give you that choice anymore. it's the anti-virus or the suite.

I also use WebRoot SpySweeper which I like.

Don't know if this helps you any? But I thought I would post it.

Thanks for the input. They do offer duo packages now. Virus checker and spam or virus checker and spyware. When it comes time to reup I'm going to check other programs again and then decide.
