Exclamation Spam mail sender program

Hi all,

I have a new problem for you guys to help me out with.

At work we have 3 computers all connected to a adsl router (sitecom DC-214). All had been working relatively well until one day at around 12o'clock each day the router went down. It was not known at the time what was causing the router to 'fail'. The only way we can resolve the problem is to reset the router. Quite recently the problem became more complex. The router now does not go down at 12 noon each day about every 15-30mins on a Thursday Friday and possibly a Saturday.

We now believe that the problem is a spam mail sender that has hooked into one of the computers and sends out mass spam. Only problem is 1. spybot search and destroy, ad-aware and avg antivirus have not located such a program and 2. we have not got a firewall because it interferes with our mailing system.

We are pretty sure its a spam mailer because we are getting error messages about mail delivery failure that are not from senders that we have sent messages to. The amount of spam mail that is sent obviously knocks the router offline until we pull the plug and reset it.

It drives us up the wall especially on a Thursday and Friday. Is there anyway i can get rid of this spam mailer and to stop the router failing.

Thanks for your help and any suggestions are welcome.

Ice

I believe someone else is infected, not in your loop, that uses your email address as the sender. This computer would have your email address in an address book, it is pulling both sender and receiver from it.
You could post a HijackThis for each machine, each log in a different thread so not to confuse us or you.
Post these in the Removing Virus forum.
