same here, 550 no such folder, log in for manual update sticks in a loop
the talking safe (!) finally led me to a page for v6.1 only (!!) but as it looks though the problem's at their end I'll leave it for a while
I see they offer an upgrade to v6.3; does anyone know if that version avoids the problem, pls? I find Sammy rather hard to understand at the best of times...
...and glad the 550 is them not me - I've been round the login loop in the past when it was down to a setup problem at my end
reckon I'll try the upgrade to v6.3 (backup first) and see how it goes. Quite a while back I "upgraded" and it was a very different product, didn't like it anywhere near as much, far heavier on resources; too much for the dinosaur. But their next "major" upgrade was back to the good old InnoculateIT style UI.
If you are still using the old version of EZantivirus or EZArmor you can get the updated virus defs here ftp://ftp.cai.com/pub/myeTrust/sigs/10.5
I've been using the new version since it came out in July.
autodownload now seems to work again, both v6.1 and (as far as I can tell) v6.3
v6.3 seems OK - a bit different to v6.1, it has extra functionality checking email as well - I got a bit of a surprise when I looked at Kerio
I sent myself the EICAR twice, once in the body of the email, once as an attachment
when the emails arrived, the EICAR in the message body was still there - but the attachment had been replaced with a small text file AntiVirusReport.txt telling me it had removed the "malware"
v6.3.0.9 doesn't seem unduly (?any) heavier on resources
noted:
- the "changes in this version" file says earlier version bug in email virus protection has been fixed.
- I've only downloaded defs the once so far, needed to complete setup and activate the product; but that download was ~2MB (so significantly larger than the aup_*.exe files for v6.1).
They will be smaller you were just playing catchup with the new install. I use EZarmor 2005, irked me when CA didn't upgrade the firewall for SP2 so I have to edit the boot.ini to use the firewall in startup. I like it way better than the SP2 firewall.
