I am not sure if this is related to either the latest version of Internet Explorer 8 or Windows Vista Home with service pack 1 but every time I open up Internet Explorer 8 I keep getting this message that says CallingID has stopped working, a problem has caused the program to stop working so how do I fix this or is it safe to do a search and remove this file from my computer? Can somebody please tell me what is causing this to happen?

I am not on a dial up and connect to the internet with comcast thru the tv cable and the comcast box, in the USA, and no I did not get this message before using Internet Explorer 8?
Ok so after going to IE>tools>internet option>programs>click manage add-ons> I then see under add-on types tool bar extentions and show add-ons and to the right see a list so what am I supposed to do now to make the CallingID window stop appearing because I do not see either the CA Toolbar and Toolbar Helper and not able to disable these?
The version currently available at SnapFiles is apparently 1.6.0.62 and was updated January 2008.
The version currently available at MajorGeeks is apparently 1.7.0.46 (same as the version reported available at callingid.com) and apparently not updated since December 2007.
It seems, if the author was actively maintaining the CallingID software, then a newer update should be readily available. The version currently available appears to have been released before Internet Explorer 8 was released so an unaddressed conflict is certainly possible.
I would be inclined to uninstall CallingID from your computer and possibly get a similar application from a different vendor who actively maintains their software.

By now, you have probably figured out that your mysterios error messages is thought to be associated with an application that would disply an incomming caller ID on your PC monitor. These applications are usually called Wigets and usually work with only one version of a web browser. You may be using a program that is not simply a widget and is posing a security risk with your newer MS IE.
