Browser disconnects dial-up

I can connect to my dial up server and download window updates, and Norton internet security updates with no problem, but as soon as I launch Netscape 8, Netscape 9 or SeaMonkey, my dialup connection stops receiving all activity, and usually disconnects my dial up service in about 30 to 60 seconds.IE Explorer does not disconnect the dial up but it is horribly slow, and will eventilly stop.
