I would be grateful for advice regarding this. Does version 6.1 need to be uninstalled and a full new version downloaded? I could not find a simple patch just a full download of msn therefore I do not know if I just run this and it will patch the installed version 6.1

I would appreciate any advice on this as I am not familiar with updating MSN messenger at all.

Just download and run the setup. It will update automatically. Still version 6.1 but 6.1.0211 rather than 6.1.00** or whatever.
