For the past 3 or 4 months my computer frequently locks up when I try to open Adobe Photoshop LE. Photoshop partially opens up, but does not open completely, and then the computer just hangs there with the little hourglass showing. I can usually get the partially open Photoshop closed by pressing Ctrl Alt Delete. After a lot of fooling around I finally get the "Ending Program" window saying "Ending Program MSN6.exe" . The blue bar advances - finishes - then a new window comes up saying "This program is not responding - MSN6.exe" and it gives me a button to "End Now ". That usually works and then I can reboot and Photoshop will open.

None of this used to happen. The only change I've made in the last 6 months was to load the MSN8 CD. I've still got Internet Explorer on my computer but we don't use it, we use MSN8 instead. Could that be the problem? I don't even know what MSN6.exe is. Any suggestions? This really is getting aggravating. Thanks - Cliff

    Hello chgo29,

MSN6 is a previous version to MSN8. See if there is an enty in the the Add/Remove panel for it, and if so, uninstall the program. Program should not be running when uninstalling.

Failing that, see if MSN6 starts at bootup and uncheck it in the startup tab in msconfig.

If none of the above, do a search on MSN6 and either change the executable name by one character or delete it. In both cases, stop it from running before renaming or deleting.

    Regards - Charles
