saving httpd.conf file as .conf not text

I am editing a file called httpd.conf file.
When I go to save the edited file since I am using notepad it only saves it as a text file. How can I save the file as a .conf not text file ?

You probably want to use something else then Notepad, I use TextPad, which has the ability to save files in UNIX format.

Hi schamish,

To save as .conf, do try typing "filename.conf" (with the open colons). It should work
