Recommend a free alternative to mIRC

I have not been using IRC Chat since before W98 came out, so I'm out of touch on this subject.

What is a good free app for IRC?

During the interm I continued to dig.

I have used prior versions of "Trillian" and liked it as its primary function of message client. - The latest release also supports IRC.

It is not an IRC power tool by any means - functionality is limited, but if I use it, its one less program required. (vrs adding a specialized chat client).

Now I just need to remember my hotmail password. (Autologon=forget)
