How do I relieve Itching inside my cast?

Does anyone have any suggestions on relieving itching inside a cast? I broke my foot in April at work. It didn't heal so they had to take some bone out of my shin and fused it to the bone in my foot with pins. My cast is about six days old and I don't see the doctor again until 11 Nov.

It is itching like mad around the area where the stitches are. i don't want to scratch it with anything for fear of tearing out the stitches.

Any suggestions??????????????

Maybe a couple shots of tequila? We put baby powder down my son's cast, but that was for sweating since it was summer time. Maybe you could find a anti-itch powder to put in there. If you can reach the spot with your fingers, maybe some anti-itch cream or Benadryl. I also saw references to using a hair dryer on the cool setting. Good luck.

Thanks, the Tequila sounds like a good idea I thought about the power but was worried it might turn into paste from the sweat. I'll give the hair dryer a try first.

Coat Hanger Just do it gently....
Note - once you start scratching it, it'll be hard to stop

Steve, coat hanger will work everywhere except around the stitches don't want to pull them out before the doctor does. Been using the coat hanger on my calf.
