WinDbg Help

Hi All,

This is my first mail on this forum, well this forum have lot of experienced people who are doing great job.

I have recently started using windbg for debugging but I am not able to do much, because of the following reasons:
  1. I am not able to find good article, book or posts on this topic.
  2. I am not able to setup environment properly
  3. Windbg shows that symbols are not loaded whereas symbols were loaded for the application.

My query may seem trivial but your valuable inputs would help me a lot.

Thanks,
niksaks

Thanks Admin,

But my system do not have DR Watson, instead I have got the windbg set for 'PostMortem' debugging.

I did with following command on the command prompt:

Windbg -I

Also I am trying to reproduce the defect on 'Test Machine' with no internet connection - the tool debugwiz.exe needs that.

Any Help ??

Eureka,

I did it, what I did, was I created the hierarchy of the files on my test machine similar to development machine :

For ex: If on my dev machine symbols were at : c:\debug\abc.pdb then on my test machine also I kept symbols on the location c:\debug\abc.pdb ! and it worked.

Now I am interested why this happened?
If I get that info, I will post here
