downloading wallpaper

I would like to download some desktop wallpaper and I noticed that some websites want you to register, or some ask for your birthday and zip code before allowing you to download. What do they do with this information?

Well, I guess they are just wanting to perhaps get a better idea of where people come from to get to thier site, tho all sites have stats to show that on the back end, and for the b-day they want to know your age.

Now you didn't say if they asked for an email address, because then I'd say they just want to spam the living daylights out of you. I would find another wallpaper site to ue tho if it were me.
