Some of us may be using computers for many hours a day in our job. We're probably all aware of the Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI), and some of us may hav heard about two other issues that are closely related to working at a computer desk: Work Related Upper Limb Disorder and Musculoskeletal Disorder.

Let's have a look how WindowsBBS users are doing.

Personally from time to time I'll have some problems with my back mussels if I skip going to the gym for my needed exercise...

The only computer related injury that I've suffered from is eye strain. That only happens though when I play some video games for more than a few hours. I've learned now to take breaks every couple of hours to avoid that injury.

I also practice Martial Arts every week at my local Karate Dojo to help offset my computer use. That way I can stay active, and get some good excercise in which helps to mitigate my chances of getting some of the other injuries on this list. So far I've been fortunate and I hope to stay in good physical shape in the future.

Eye strain for me, but I've been short sighted for a couple of decades now so not sure if it's 30+ years computer usage or general wear an tear that causes it.

I checked "Other" because the only injuries have been from doing hardware work.

I think computer manufacturers send all their cases off to a knife sharpening service because I have anointed the inside of many a case with my blood!

I put my back out a few years ago reaching behind the computer. It took the chiropracter 4 weeks to fix it although it was a lot better after the first visit.

I never needed glasses all my life. My close-up vision has deteriorated since I got first computer in 1998. Actually, that 15" monitor was perfect and I had no eye strain with it. But in 2000 I got a 19" monitor and could never settle upon a comfortable resolution.

I think years of crt monitors and bombardment by light rays did me in. I now use those $4.99 1.25 strength reading glasses for all computer work.

I checked "Eyestrain" and "Other ". "Eyestrain" is self-explanatory, but I checked "Other" because, like Miz, I've had numerous bloody scrapes and cuts from poorly designed cases, and I've gained weight from too much sitting in front of the keyboard. :D

No side effects from this yet, but I must have breathed several pounds of dust while blowing out dusty computers with my air compressor. (outdoors)

I've sliced my thumb open on a drive bay blanking plate...
