Question Sending photos as e-mail attachments

Sometimes when I send someone a photo (JPEG) as an e-mail attachment, it opens huge on their screen. I know that sometimes this happens when I receive one, but I can change it to a hyperlink by unchecking "view attachments inline" under View.

But is there any way to ensure that when I send one, it will show up in the recipient's e-mail as a hyperlink, regardless of what their browser or e-mail processor is? I have Netscape 4.78 and I use Messenger for e-mail.

Thanks,
grandpa

I'm afraid that is impossible to ensure that attachments will display the same way in every email client. The easiest thing to do is just place photos on a web page, and send recipients the link to your page. Failing that, there is no way to guarantee that inline attachments will display in the same manner in every mail client.

Smile

Thanks for the reply, tranquilo. I'm trying another workaround which I hope will work (I haven't heard yet from my recipient). I just pasted the photos into a Word document and sent the *.doc as an attachment rather than the *.jpeg. I'll let you know if that works.

One other workaround is to zip the pictures before sending, assuming the recipient has winzip or similar program on their end.
